Texto del ACUERDO POR CANJE DE NOTAS ENTRE LA REPÚBLICA DE GUATEMALA Y LOS ESTADOS UNIDOS DE AMÉRICA REFERENTE A LA IMPORTACIÓN Y ADQUISICIÓN DE VEHÍCULOS PARA USO OFICIAL DE LAS REPRESENTACIONES DIPLOMÁTICAS Y CONSULARES.

YO, JIMMY MORALES CABRERA

Presidente de la República de Guatemala

DECLARO:

Que el Gobierno de la República de Guatemala, habiendo celebrado mediante Notas de fechas 15 de febrero y 14 de agosto de 2018, el ACUERDO POR CANJE DE NOTAS ENTRE LA REPÚBLICA DE GUATEMALA Y LOS ESTADOS UNIDOS DE AMÉRICA REFERENTE A LA IMPORTACIÓN Y ADQUISICIÓN DE VEHÍCULOS PARA USO OFICIAL DE LAS REPRESENTACIONES DIPLOMÁTICAS Y CONSULARES, ratifica por el presente dicho Acuerdo por Canje de Notas y se compromete a cumplir y aplicar fielmente las disposiciones que en el figuran.

EN TESTIMONIO DE LO CUAL, firmo el presente instrumento.

The Embassy of the United States presents its compliments to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Guatemala and has the honor to reference the importation and acquisition of vehicles for official use of the Mission of the United States of America in Guatemala and the Mission and consulates of the Republic of Guatemala in the United States of America.

The Embassy of the United States of America states that according to the regulation in the United States, it does not impose a restriction on the purchases and registration of official vehicles for foreign missions. The Embassy and

Consulates of Guatemala in the United States may purchase tax free, import

duty free, and register an unrestricted number of imported or locally purchased vehicles.

This Mission requests to the Government of Guatemala that based on the international principle of reciprocity, to apply a similar disposition to this Diplomatic Mission before the Government of the Republic of Guatemala, with the understanding that the affirmative Exchange of Notes will constitute an Agreement between the Republic of Guatemala and the United States of America, which shall take effect on the date that Guatemala notifies of the fulfillment of the internal legal requirements have been met and informs this Embassy between the Exchange of Notes.

The Embassy of the United States of America avails itself of this opportunity to renew to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Guatemala the assurances of its highest consideration.
